PreliminariesPosters Boards EAPC '09 Website |
The EAPC' 09 Mombasa, Kenya The East African region has high potential for hydrocarbons with recent gas and oil discoveries in Tanzania and Uganda respectively. Successful petroleum exploration ventures can be only attained through concerted efforts. Attractive Legal and Fiscal regimes within East African partner states have contributed to an increased number of oil companies applying for exploration acreage in the region. Considerable efforts have been made in updating the existing geological databases through reprocessing of existing data and acquisition of additional seismic data. East Africa has hosted three successful conferences on Petroleum Potential and Investment Opportunities that have contributed immensely to the growing interest being witnessed in the region. This will be the fourth conference to be organized by the East African States under the auspices of the East African Community Secretariat. It is expected to attract more than 500 participants and ultimately more investments into the region. The 4th East African Petroleum Conference 2009 (EAPC'09), whose theme is "Enhancing Exploration and Exploitation of Oil and Gas for sustainable Social and Economic Development" is scheduled to take place in at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & SPA, Mombasa, Kenya, from March 11th - 13th, 2009. The primary goal of the 4th EAPC is to provide another opportunity to the five Partner States to jointly promote and market their vast but under-explored petroleum potential to the petroleum investors. The EAPC'09 is a platform that will enhance good working relationships between Governments of the Partner States and the Investors in the petroleum industry by way of using the forum to articulate the existing Legal Framework, Fiscal Regimes and Policies that govern petroleum operations in the Partner States. |
